I am Jana-Rae Arlea Locklear, a lifelong resident of Robeson County, NC, with a robust academic and professional journey in mental health counseling. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Criminal Justice from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May 2010, followed by a Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the same institution in May 2013. I currently hold credentials/licenses including LCMHCS S10676, NCC 315209, and LPC (SC) 7746. Additionally, I hold a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, enhancing my therapeutic toolkit for working with younger clients.
With 13 years dedicated to mental health, I have specialized in therapy for children, adolescents, and adults for the past 11 years. In September 2021, I established Locklear’s Behavioral Health Services, PLLC (LBHS), initially as a sole practitioner and have since expanded to manage a team of 10 clinicians. At LBHS, our approach is centered on personalized care, ensuring every client feels valued and supported.
My practice focuses on Outpatient Services for individuals of all ages and their families, utilizing a systemic approach to treatment. I employ a theoretically eclectic and empathetic method tailored to each client's unique needs. Techniques I frequently incorporate include Person-Centered Counseling, Reality Reinforcement, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and
Existential Therapy, selected based on empirical research and their proven effectiveness.
At Locklear’s Behavioral Health Services, PLLC, we are dedicated to making a profound and positive impact on the lives of our clients through personalized, evidence-based therapeutic interventions
